An Autumn Kula Day Retreat
Rising Yin - a Day Retreat
Cowdray Hall , cowdray estate, midhurst, west sussex
Sunday 13th November 2022 9.30am-6pm (guide)
“ in the 3 months of Autumn all things in nature reach their full maturity, the grains ripen and harvesting occurs. The heavenly energy cools , as does the weather. The wind begins to stir. This is the changing of the pivoting when the yang or active phase turns into its opposite, the yin, or passive phase…….Just as the weather in autumn turns harsh, so does the emotional climate,…. it is therefore important to remain calm and peaceful……so that one can make the transition to winter smoothly. This is the time to gather one’s spirit and energy, be more focused…..One must keep the lung energy full, clean and quiet. This means practising breathing exercises to enhance lung Qi…….”
(The Yellow Emperors Classic of Medicine - Chapter 2 The Art of Life through the Four Seasons)
we will share in a day of self care through stillness, mindfulness, movement, meditation and sound. The autumn time is a time of appreciation and nourishment of our spirit. this season is also the yin to springs yang of expansion, and therefore a time of contraction as earth slows down in preparation for rest.
