I am incredibly grateful to hold a Tea Ceremony at this amazing space. I dreamed to hold something at the gallery for a while now. Why? I don’t know. But it just felt important to combine conscious art, music and beautiful spaces with ceremony.
And I am so excited for this particular event that was in our hearts for some time now ~ A Tea Ceremony & Cello Journey. This unique collaboration invites us to align with the rhythm of the changing season through tea & sound.

ABOUT SEASON
S E A S O N is an artist-led space, founded by recent RCA graduates Adam Henderson, Finchittida Finch and Emmie Ray Hubbard. A new art + wellbeing space that honours the rhythms of the seasons and cycles of nature. Guided by the lessons of the pandemic, our intention is to provide a new vision for this hidden gem in the heart of East London, which holds a voice for our human nature across different art forms and healing modalities.
SEASON is self-funded by the three artists. They hope to continue offering events, exhibitions and workshops to build the community of SEASON. Thank you for your support in the growth of SEASON.

ABOUT EVENT
As the seasons begin to change and the leaves fall from the trees, our gaze shifts from the outer world to our inner world. We slow down in preparation for nature’s sleep, where we too, will dream.
The evening will start with the slow and beautiful ritual of the tea ceremony inviting us to drop from the head to the heart. Tea Medicine is such a gentle and powerful plant - she brings us into ourselves so we can be here in the eternal now. And in this we become ready to deeply receive the sound.
In the journey of sound that will follow, Garwyn will explore the theme of the changing seasons inspired by the beauty of falling leaves in a free improvisation followed by the Bach Suite for Solo cello in D minor, an introspective and solemn work reflecting the shortening days and the coming of winter.
This is a one off special event.
ABOUT GARWYN
Born in Vancouver, Canada, the first contact Garwyn Linnell had with music was listening to his father play The Beatles and sing/play folk tunes on the guitar as a child. It wasn’t until he was 10 years old when a combination of having the opportunity to start learning the cello at school and hearing Yo-Yo Ma’s recording of Bach’s first Cello Suite made him fall in love with the instrument. Deciding to further his studies in music, Garwyn spent 6 years living in Essen, Germany studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts where he completed his bachelor’s degree and then moved to London, UK where he received a masters degree from the Royal Academy of Music. An avid chamber musician, Garwyn has also had the opportunity to perform as a soloist, and an orchestral musician in a wide range of venues and countries from small churches in Italy to concert halls in China. While classical music is his primary area of focus, he also has had the pleasure to collaborate and perform with various artists within the fields of dance, contemporary music, improvisation, jazz, and even poetry. All the while, through his own healing journey and spiritual development, Garwyn has been drawn to explore sound as a healing a healing modality through medicine music and sound journeys and practices various forms of energetic healing including shamanic healing and Reiki.
