Gong Fu Tea Ceremony in London

Where: Private Residence in SE1/SE17
When:  Almost Every Thursday at 1pm
Cost:    Donation (suggested donation £15-30, but we aim to accommodate every income and ability so please inquire if you would like to donate less or more)

Thursday afternoons are going to be dedicated to Gong Fu style of brewing tea with Oolong Teas. I have a few in my collections, some of them are aged oolongs from last century, some are beautiful high mountain oolongs from Taiwan.

Global Tea Hut had a whole issue (June 2016) of their magazine dedicated to the differences between Gong Fu and Bowl Tea ways of brewing tea. A few people voiced their feelings and I found some of them to be a really beautiful comparison: Gong Fu tea is about mastery, while Bowl Tea is about Mistery. Gong Fu tea is about harnesing your skills, your senses, your sensitivity to the subtelties of the tastes, aromas and energies. While Bowl tea is about equanimity, about being and presence with tea. Gong Fu tea is like an artist, musician or a dancer creating a masterpience using they skills developed over years. While Bowl Tea is like a shamanic ritual that takes you on a journey with yourself.

So almost every Thursday afternoon we will gather for a Gong Fu Tea Ceremony with amazing teas and immerse into the world of subtelties, harnesing our awareness and sensiivity - to tea and to ourselves. The ability that will help enormously in our own life.

It is donation based and there is an RSVP/wait list in place, so you are encouraged to receive your space by making a suggested contribution. The seating is done on the floor and we will have cushions (but if you need more, it is advisable to bring more for yourself). Comfortable clothing is recommended. After tea we will share some healthy snacks.

I am looking forward to sharing a bowl of tea with you all!
